At Bodiskin, we deliberately chose hydrolysed collagen because it's smaller peptide structure makes it exceptionally well suited our proprietary CollaGlow™ fabric designed to sit comfortably against your skin, quietly nourishing it throughout the day.
Collagen is the body's most abundant structural protein, providing structure, strength and elasticity to the skin. Through hydrolysis, naturally sourced ocean collagen, is broken down into much smaller peptide fragments, allowing it to integrate more consistently into our advanced textile manufacturing process than whole collagen molecules.
Not all collagen is created equal. Those smaller peptides also help support the transfer of our skincare ingredients to the skin during wear while contributing to the exceptionally soft, luxurious feel that defines Bodiskin.
Collagen has long been used in premium skincare as a highly refined source of collagen peptides. Rather than choosing collagen simply because it's a recognised skincare ingredient, we selected hydrolysed collagen because it works in harmony with our complete fabric ecosystem, alongside hyaluronic acid, peptides and silk amino acids, to create a carefully engineered fabric for skin wellness, comfort and everyday movement.

Its standards are designed to ensure fabrics are manufactured using responsible processes and are tested against a comprehensive list of substances considered harmful to human health.
Rather than focusing soley on the fabric's performance, OEKO-TEX® also considers the chemistry behind how a textile is made; the dyes, finishing technologies and manufacturing processes used to create the fabric.

Healthy skin needs balance, not simply "breathable" fabrics.
Breathability is one of the most common claims in activewear, but it's often misunderstood.
A breathable fabric allows heat and moisture vapour to move away from the body, helping regulate temperature during activity.
While breathability is important, skin also needs to retain sufficient moisture to support its natural barrier.
If a fabric removes moisture too aggressively, or creates excessive drying through airflow and evaporation, the skin can feel tight, dry or uncomfortable, particularly after extended wear.

Performance clothing isn't always designed with skin health in mind.
Modern activewear has transformed athletic performance through stretch, compression and moisture management.However, most performance fabrics were originally engineered to optimise athletic function, not to consider the skin that wears them.
During exercise, your skin experiences a combination of:

When something is worn against your skin for hours at a time, it should be held to a higher standard than ordinary clothing. This is why we rethought traditional athleisure or activewear into Skinwear.
Traditional activewear performance fabrics are typically developed around durability, stretch and moisture management. While these qualities are important, they don't necessarily tell you how a fabric behaves during prolonged contact with your skin.
That's why we chose to evaluate CollaGlow™ under controlled clinical ISO-certified laboratory conditions.
Our dermatological testing was designed to assess how skin responds when wearing our fabric over time, using recognised scientific measurement methods rather than subjective opinions alone.
Independent specialists measured multiple aspects of skin condition, including hydration, barrier function, elasticity, firmness, smoothness and surface appearance throughout the study.
Every measurement was performed using validated dermatological instruments in a controlled testing environment to ensure consistency and reliability, under dermatological supervision throughout.
Because better skin shouldn't rely on marketing claims. It should be supported by science-backed evidence.

Dermatological Testing
Because Bodiskin is purposefully designed to be worn in direct contact with your skin for extended periods, we believe it should meet a higher standard than traditional performance apparel.
Our fabrics undergo independent dermatological evaluation to assess skin compatibility and are clinically tested under controlled laboratory conditions using recognised scientific methods and statistically significant sample sizes of wearer tests. These studies verify the impact CollaGlow™ has on your skin hydration, elasticity, barrier function and other key indicators of healthy-looking and feeling skin, ensuring every claim we make is supported by scientific evidence.
Fabric Performance Testing
Exceptional Skinwear must perform just as well in everyday life as it does in the laboratory.
Our fabrics are extensively tested for stretch and recovery, colour fastness, dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, pilling, durability and wash performance to ensure they remain comfortable, supportive and beautiful from the studio to the street.
We also develop our fabrics with OEKO-TEX® certified mills, ensuring they are free from harmful substances while maintaining the premium quality expected from luxury performance apparel. But we don't stop there. Beyond exceptional performance, every Bodiskin fabric is independently tested to verify it is free from PFAS and BPA, because true wearable skincare should care for your skin in every way.

CollaGlow™ was created from a simple question:

More technically, if skincare ingredients can benefit the skin through topical application, why couldn't carefully engineered textiles become another way to support the skin throughout the day?
Answering that question required far more than selecting premium materials. It marked the beginning of Bodiskin 's wearable skincare journey.
Developing CollaGlow™ required years of textile engineering, dermatological science, formulation expertise and independent laboratory testing to understand how prolonged contact between fabric and skin could help support skin health.
Rather than relying on assumptions, we invested in controlled clinical research with independent ISO-certified laboratories to objectively evaluate how prolonged contact between skin and fabric influenced multiple skin biomarkers, including hydration, skin barrier function, elasticity, firmness, smoothness and overall skin appearance.
The results evidenced that thoughtfully engineered textiles can do more than simply cover the body. They can actively support the skin hydration, barrier function and overall skin wellness during wear, opening an entirely new approach to wearable skincare.
